Warning! I'm sharing information about my fathers diabetes situation in a bit so please stop reading if that might disturb you.
The first half of the week was good. We played outside, enjoying nature by chasing butterflies. We ate ice cream, played with ice cream and even made our own ice cream cones out of home made play dough! Yep! It was fun. Plus the ice cream pictures hint at an activity of mine coming out on Gummy Lump this week.
Now as for the second half of the week all of a sudden my dad wasn't eating. His face coloring was bad and he was throwing up. He had come out of the shower and I always change his bandages after so he has clean ones to start off the next day when I see his wound area. (My dad had surgery previously on a foot sore) A new sore was turning colors and smelled bad. I mentioned this to my dad and he was offended when I was just trying to tell him that it was a bad sign. Its a sign of infection. Then all of a sudden on the bottom of his foot was a huge brand new blister that seemed to be full of goo. I freaked out! I teared up and told my dad we had to go to the emergency room. He didn't want to but we ended up going. They said he had a serious bone infection and it was bad! That the infection was spreading up his foot into his ankle and leg. This is a lot of information to take in a couple of hours.
Before I knew it he was already in surgery because it was getting worse by the minute. Since Thursday my family's life has been on edge. My dad is still in the hospital and has had 2 surgeries so far now. The second surgery came after we thought he was getting better but then it turned out the infection had actually gotten worse over night. Prayers are greatly appreciated.
I keep praying for the doctors to be able to get rid of all the infection and save his foot. We have a long journey ahead and I need to be strong for my family. Especially for my son who isn't taking it well and has too many questions that I don't have answers for.
Please be informed about the seriousness of diabetes and the effects it can have on you and your loved ones. For more information on diabetes visit http://www.diabetes.org
How was your week? Hopefully it was better than ours even though I am still happy because my father is still here and we are going to keep fighting for his health. Things could be worse so I need to stay positive.

Project 52: Week 27
We had a great week this week. We celebrated 4th of July and did a bunch of patriotic hand prints, hearts and more. We played outside and blew bubbles and even got to see a few fireworks to top it off. Plus we drew the beach. munchkin was helping me with the fish and I was reminiscing on our beach days that need to happen again soon. How was your week?

Project 52: Week 26
This week has been a good one. The sun has been shining. We hit a record temperature in San Antonio over 106! Then the very next day we got plenty of rain... lots of rain clouds and it finally cooled off. Our house has been full of butterflies! Yellow, blue and black, black and yellow and even white. My sister snapped up a picture of one that was hanging from a tree vine. When we go outside its like a butterfly playground that even our cats have fun jumping up trying to play with. We've recently been watching "The Shining" and only my sister of course sees my munchkin riding his bike and thinks of the little boy from The shining saying "redrum"! Yep she is a one of a kind. And finally I would like to say GoodBye June! You went too fast. The big sunset picture I took Sunday afternoon as I waved goodbye to June and Hello to July!
Hope your week was a great one! What are you looking forward to in July?

Project 52: Week 25
This past week was good and bad for us. Being in San Antonio from the moment I was old enough to understand anything I was already a Spurs fan. As I grew older I became more in love with our team. Now my kiddo is a Spurs fan too! So this huge loss was heartbreaking but none the less as a true fan I still love my Spurs! The love I saw everywhere for our team after the loss was unbelievable. People lined the streets after the game still cheering on our team. The Spurs were greeted with love when they arrived home after the game and still only happiness is being spread from our fans. I hope that speaks greatly to you about San Antonio if you ever plan on visiting.
This week we also hanged out with my friend Veronica and her kiddos at the Zoo. If your looking for thrifty tips or more information on Barefoot Books my friend Veronica is your gal!
While still on the subject of Zoo fun, this week I was over at Gummy Lump sharing my new activity for this week which is an Eric Carle inspired Zoo Adventure book! Its spun from the Beloved Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Check it out and have an adventure of your own! Plus see the rest of my zoo fun here.
Finally this week we officially welcomed Summer! Hi there Summer! How was your week?

Project 52: Week 24
This past week was a good one. We spent a big chunk of it at the beach on our summer adventure. It was my kiddos first time seeing the waves and the never ending water. It was truly so much fun and we made some amazing memories!
When we got back home we had a BBQ! It was funny because when we were off at the beach it was never ending sunshine and then we get home and its rain clouds for the most part. I guess we used up too much sun. But in between the rain clouds when the sun was out we ate some yummy watermelon and even played with water balloons for the very first time.
How was your week? We've been chipping away at our 75 Days of Summer fun list. Be sure to check it out for some fun summer ideas.

It sure feels like summer in San Antonio! This past week has been a good one. My kiddo has been experimenting with my camera and doing some self photography! I created a list of 75 summer fun ideas that will help us make it through this hot summer. And this week I was over at Gummy Lump sharing about the theater I made with my munchkin and the finger puppet show we put on, so go and check it out.

Project 52: Week 19 (Mothers Day)
This past week has been a pretty good one besides the storm. We spent a lot of time outdoors and had fun! We chased and got chased around by a lizard. I posted 3 photos of the lizard hiding in a rose bush and a lot of people wrote to me that they couldn't find it! I felt so bad! So I am going to share where the lizard was in all 3 photos. If you haven't seen the pictures and don't want to know yet where the lizard was then dont read ahead past where I marked it! You can find all 3 pictures here not yet marked.
Now I also had a new post go up on Gummy Lump! I shared how me and my munchkin went on a Nature Hunt and used those items we found to paint with. If you missed seeing it this week then you can find it here.
Below this line you will see the 3 pictures showing you where the lizard is so only scroll down when you are ready!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ready!
Here they are!
Hope you had fun with those pictures!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also today is Mothers Day! (Did you check out my Mothers Day craft? If you missed it you can see it here)Today I celebrate Mothers Day with my family. We will be outside all day having a big family BBQ. It will be a day full of love and Happiness and of course good food. Hope you had a great week and have a beautiful Mothers day!

Project 52: Week 17
This past week life was a bit sweeter and we tried finding happiness here at home. My dad still has to see the doctor 3x a week and he cant be putting weight on his foot, but things are getting easier every day. Hopefully soon I can say he is all better. We played outside and even found some creepy caterpillars! I looked them up online and it looks like a PipeVine SwallowTail. Apparently they are poisonous though so we need to watch out with our pets.
We made some scratch Art (can you tell my munchkin made Sponge Bob and Patrick?) and played with stamps. But the best part of this past week was going out to Seaworld for the final weekend of the Just for Kids Concert series. The imagination Movers were there and the show was amazing!
Hopefully the weeks keep getting better. How was your week?

Project 52: Week 14
We finally did get more out of the house this past week.
We went downtown Saturday morning and caught a glimpse of The Komen race for the cure. We then went to The HEB Healthy Family Expo and it was fun getting all the freebies and full sized samples (some small ones too), plenty of coupons and even a kids zone where my munchkin played safety bingo and won a bike helmet. Its great actually because he never wanted to try riding his bike, but as soon as we got home thats all he kept asking me to do.
Sadly I twisted my foot Saturday afternoon and could barely walk on it so no bike riding that day. By Sunday it did feel a lot better but I ended up missing Siclovia! I was upset because I knew I had to rest my foot (especially to keep up with my kiddo) but I really had wanted to go. Now I have to wait for the next Siclovia.
Did you miss my latest craft on Gummy Lump? Its a DIY Pretend Garden. Munchkin had a lot of fun with this one! We made flowers, garden markers, seed packets, a caterpillar, butterfly and even a bee. Its a fun way to get your kiddo involved with plants and even an opportunity to learn about plant growth and the life cycle of a caterpillar. So be sure to check it out!

Project 52: Week 13
This past week was a tough one. Thursday early morning we lost our cat Gilbert. She was killed by dogs outside our yard and we got there too late. I am beyond heartbroken and so is my family. Its been nonstop crying for days. I dont think my heart will ever heal properly from her loss because she was in our lives over 15 years. Thats forever! She was more than a pet to us, she was family... a best friend.
When we were little kids she was so much fun and happy, full of life. She was a fighter. One day walking home I saw a little lump on the road and it seemed familiar... it was her. She had been run over and there was blood everywhere and I carried her home. We cleaned her and cared for and prayed she wouldnt die. She slowly but surely regained strength after a couple days and even though she forever had a scar on her face and lost her tail she was Beautiful and a survivor.
Now here with me as an adult she was comfort to me during the hard times in my pregnancy. She would lay next to my belly and magically make the pain go away. Since my son was born she has only ever been sweet to him. She would lay next to him while he slept and never once scratched him or hurt him. She was a great pet to have. A pet that will be deeply missed and forever cherished and loved in our family.
And I know that up in Heaven by Gods side she is watching over us and being a good Girl. We will one day be together again and until then she will always be a part of my heart.

Project 52: Week 12
This past week we welcomed Spring! Its finally here (check out my gardens flowers) and outside the world is in full bloom! We went to Party city this week to see what fun Easter things they would have since I got an ad in the mail, but when I got to the store most of the wall was bare! Not bare like run out but bare because they had no products (major disappointment) . But we made the most of it and played with the Halloween costumes they still had. We also received this Beautiful print that we so need to find a frame for. And munchkin has been doodling! Dont you love his art?

Project 52: Week 11
This week we celebrated St. Patricks day and even our dog got in the spirit of green fun! Munchkin had a lot of fun outdoors jumping on the trampoline! He says he is flying and I bet that's how he feel with his feet off the ground jumping. We even got to have water fun outside with his mini pool. He loved making foot prints with his wet feet. He especially has fun being my mini photographer which I love because I have an addiction to photography and apparently I gave him the bug! It was a beautiful weather week in San Antonio as you can tell.
How's your week been going? This is My Project 52, if you are doing a project 52 share with me!

Project 52: Week 10
This week seemed to go really fast! March is really going fast and St. Patricks day is this upcoming weekend! If I know you and see you I will pinch you if you are not wearing green, So beware!
I cut my munchkins long hair! Yep his gorgeous locks were making him too sweaty so I chopped them off and wanted to cry because I love him in long hair so its hard to get use to for me. I wish I could put a wig on him! (Any advice on hair styles for boys with long hair would be greatly appreciated because I'm going to let it grow again and I need ideas)
We went outside as much as possible this past week. We blew bubbles and played basketball and it was great! I love the sunshine and we enjoy it together.
How was your week? Have you been doing a Project 52? Share your Project 52 with me and lets see where this year takes us.

Project 52: Week 9
Hello March! Its now March and soon it will be Saint Patricks day on the 17th and then Easter on the 31st (yep Easter is this month) and so far this month has been pretty good to me. Here's my past week:
We had fun outdoors playing with chalk and enjoying the sunshine. We went grocery shopping and there are lots of cute Easter things to buy! (Most you can cheat a little and DIY). Munchkin met some nice Police men downtown who gave him an adorable Police sticker he proudly wore calling himself a Copicer (mix of cop and officer). We started decorating the fence and we went to the Zoo! It was a great week!
Plus I was over at Gummy Lump again! This was my second time over there making some fun kids crafts. My first is a fun craft making your own Zoo using paper plates!
The second craft is making Keychains out of your old puzzle pieces.
How was your week?
If you are looking for some Easter Inspiration check out my Easter board on Pinterest! While you are there check out my Saint Patricks Day Board. Both have some yummy treats and home decor and plenty of crafts for all ages. Hope they help you get ready!
Don't forget to check out these cute easy to make cupcakes I made last Easter. I wanted them to look like Easter Baskets. They make cute treat gifts so you can tell your friends you got them an Easter Basket and they can eat it too! Plus, kids love the candy.

Project 52: Week 8
Hi there! Another week has come and gone so quickly! Can you believe February is ending in a couple of days and then its March! Yep, too quick. Not only that but this year Easter is in March so if you haven't started planning, then you are already late. Don't worry, its not your fault! We normally celebrate Easter in April so this year it just sneaks in right after St. Patrick's day.
This past week we went to SeaWorld San Antonio for Wild Days and had lots of fun! It was our first visit of the new season and we cant wait to go back! We had fun wearing some new fashionable pieces in our hair and we started getting ready for Easter! yep, I went through the storage and got out all the Easter baskets and grass and fun eggs. I also have been making pretty much only scrambled eggs (instead of sunny side up) so I can save the eggs in order to make cascarones. Its so much fun to make your own cascarones rather than spending money on them.
How was your past week? Share your Project 52 with me!

Project 52: Week 7
This past week was all about Love in this house. We made Valentines and Valentine treat bags. We went to Play and learn at Central library where the theme was Red for Valentines day! Then of course the big day came and we played with chalk outside making hearts.
We had a pretty great week. How was your week? Did you have a good Valentines day? Hope your week was filled with Love like ours!
Plus If you have not yet checked out my first time at Gummy Lump then head on over and see my Indoor Zoo Craft made with paper plates. I made a Lion, giraffe, bear and turtle with my munchkin so we could play indoors during winter. I hope your munchkins have fun with it!
Are you doing a Project 52? Even though we are in February that doesn't mean you cant still start yours up. Share yours with me!

Project 52: Week 6
Another week has come and gone...
This week we rediscovered an old park close to home. We hadn't been there in about a year and it was great to see all the changes yet a lot is left to fix. They put in real nice walking paths. We got to hang out outside and we even made a cute Valentines Day card. I drew the heart out on paper for munchkin and gave him glue and confetti. He put the glue on it and smeared it in the heart, then threw confetti all over it! (Fun for a boy to make a mess) Then he wrote Happy Valentines (oops "Day" didn't fit). Final touch was a couple of Valentine stickers. I am love with his Valentine and he was very proud of it too!
I forgot to mention that I read "Warm bodies"! Yep! My sister had already read it a bunch of times and I told myself tonight is the night and I laid in bed reading until I finished it beginning to end. It wasn't too long so in a couple of hours (with breaks in between) I was done. I havent seen the movie yet, Have you? Did you read the book first? What did you think about this Zombie Love story? Share with me!
Every week I will and have been sharing my Project 52. How is yours going?

This week things felt like they were becoming normal again. We got back into our normal routine and Happiness seemed to come our way. The weather was so warm and sunny outside. We went to blow bubbles and stare at clouds.
We went back to Play and Learn (which we missed so dearly). Plus, we got a little closer to Valentines Day! We made some Valentines cards that are super easy to make. Overall it was a great start to February!

Project 52: Week 4
A lot has been going on this week. Doctor appointments, colds all around the house, the sun came back to San Antonio and brought temperatures in the high 70's during winter making us Happy (we don't like the cold). But overall the sense of Hope! Hope that every things going to be OK, that life might be getting a little more normal again.
My dad had a bunch of labs done last week and we got the results this week. They were all good news! I want to Thank each and every one of you who sent us well wishes and hope, prayers and just for being there during my family's hard times. Thank you! It means a lot to me when people who don't know me in person would care to pray for us, your prayers mean more than words can say. After the cold previous week the sun came out in San Antonio and it brought warmth with it. So of course everyone was outside soaking up the sun! We played and hanged out with our pets. I also started a very special project that I will let you know about soon. Its a great opportunity for me and I'm so excited about it. The pictures above are of my munchkin this week still with a cold but feeling alot better (yes thats an original Pokemon shirt we got at a thrift store), playing outside with his dinosaurs, one of our cats enjoying the sun and the waiting room where my munchkin spent most of his time with tia while grandpa was being seen by doctors (grateful they are kid friendly).
How was your week? Can you believe January is almost over and Valentines Day is just around the corner? Time really does fly! Are you doing a Project 52? Come share with me! There's always time to start so if you want to do one then go for it, It never hurts to try.

Hi there! This week has been such a tough week for us. Last week I wrote that I felt so blessed and you know what? No matter how hard this week has been for my family I still hold true to those words, Because we are blessed. We have food in the fridge, a roof that keeps us warm on these cold nights and a family that stands strong together through all the hardship. Right now our health may be affected but its nothing chicken soup and good rest cant fix. As for my dad, with care and good doctors and lots of antibiotics he will come out all the stronger and wiser from his pain.
This week we had to take my dad to the Hospital in an emergency. He had a huge wound on most of his lower leg. I would say about a Frisbee size if you could bend it (includes the redness around it). He had actually been hiding the wound from us behind pants and was only caught when he ran out of pants to hide in. He didn't want to bother us with his problems even though he is a diabetic with prior amputations, which makes any wound all that much more serious. The middle of his wound was now black and very serious. Doctors told us that if he had waited longer he could have lost his leg. Thank God he ran out of pants! We spent 2 days in the hospital with him and apparently took home with us a serious cold bug. So this week has been hospital stays and more doctor visits and plenty of medicine and so far 3 visits to the pharmacist. But we are all staying strong. This week is a test to our strength. So thats why I have hardly been online, Im either giving medicine or making soup or at a doctor appointment.
Please send us all the good vibes you can and please if you or your loved ones are diabetic please treat every wound as if it meant your life, because it does. And dont hide your problems from your loved ones, they are there to help you when you need it most. The pictures above are from the doctor waiting room, munchkin reading new books (Thanks to Barefoot Books contest) and starting a vision/inspiration board.
