Wacky Science fun with The Happy Trunk

Disclosure: I was provided a Happy Trunk for review purposes. No Other compensation was received. All thoughts and opinions are still all my own.
My kiddo and I love crafts! We have shared many of the ones we have made with you and sometimes we have awesome ideas and not all the materials and cant go out and buy them at the moment so it ruins our fun. So when I get The Happy Trunk in the mail Im excited to see that it comes with everything I will need for the activities inside. The Happy Trunk has arts and crafts and even science activities for us to do together.

This month we got Wacky Science! Check it out:
Inside there are activity cards that have instructions on how to do each of the science experiments from the box plus all the materials necessary for them.  Even including scissors!
We started off with Slime monsters! This one sounded and looked fun so we jumped right in. They included a full size bottle of glue for which I was grateful since we used it all up in this experiment!
It was easy to do and fun for my munchkin. Watching the materials mix and seeing how it changed into something new was exciting and a fun science lesson that can open up conversation on states of matter and more.
We ended up making 2 different colored containers and then decorated them to make fun monsters of our own!
Arent they adorable?!
We then did the Fizzing lava Lamp and this one we stayed on for a long time!
Watching the solution bubble up inside with each shake was a blast! We used a little bit of fizz powder at a time to really make it last.
It looked so pretty and was fun. We then did one more that day. It was the Magnetic Hairstyles!
My kiddo and I were giggling making different hair styles and even making a mustache for our magnetic hair man. Isn't he cute? With this one we got to talk about magnets and what they can pick up and how we were creating the hair styles with the pipe cleaners. We also made a nose and mouth with the scissors.

Isn't it nice when you can sneak in some fun learning activities and your kiddos have no idea? The Wacky Science kit from The Happy Trunk occupied the both of us for a good afternoon. The best part is that with the materials provided we can stretch that fun for the future. What science fun have you been having with your little ones? Have you checked out the Happy Trunk before? We cant wait for a new kit!

For more with The Happy Trunk check out our review of Fun in Food. And dont worry they have a little bit of everything for the kiddos: Creativity Kits, Party favors, Party packs,  Science kits and mini creativity kits. Be sure to check them out!

Combating your Allergy face with Beauty tips from ZYRTEC #ENFRENTATUSALERGIAS

I wrote this post as part of my participation in a blog tour for Latina Mom Bloggers on behalf of ZYRTEC® ALLERGY FACE® and received compensation to thank me for taking the time to participate. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

How are you guys dealing with this spring weather? If your anything like me then you are not doing good and people even ask you if you are feeling sick. "Mija are you feeling ok?" But no its this allergy season that keeps coming at me and giving me a not so great allergy face. With all the sneezing and runny noses I don't blame people for wondering.

But luckily I know that Zyrtec will be there to help me combat my allergies by providing me quick relief and not just any relief, but one that lasts the whole day! So anything that helps us out is a plus and the New ZYRTEC® Dissolve Tabs can be taken anytime or anywhere because they dissolve in your mouth without water. They’re perfect for someone who is on the go like me and if you still have doubts its even the number one allergist recommended brand.

But what about my allergy face?
You ladies know what Im talking about. The puffy eyes and runny noses dont really scream out Hot mama so Im glad to say that in order to help women look fresh-faced and flawless during the height of allergy season, ZYRTEC has partnered with celebrity makeup artist Jackie Gomez to help women tackle ALLERGY FACE. Gomez has developed a variety of celebrity-inspired looks that will help all women face their allergies so they too can look like they’re ready for their close-up.

So in this instance for this weeks allergy face I decided to try out the lovely Jackie's "Fresh faced & Glamorous" look. It helped me feel more confident as I walked up to pick my munchkin up from school. Facing other parents and teachers when I dont feel so confident is tough so this little self esteem boost goes along way!

Heres the Look I tried out so you can check it out too:
I bet it will help you tackle your own allergy face. But if fresh faced isn't really your look well dont worry since there are many looks to choose from that each help in there own way.

Here's my own selfie with Allergy face trying out the "Fresh faced & Glamorous" look. Not so bad huh?
I know that we as Latinas set a different standard on ourselves on beauty thats truly cultural.  From our own moms who wouldn't leave the house without there face on that included red lips and great lashes its tough when you dont feel up to the standard.

Check out this Fun allergy face Beauty video tutorial and for more videos check out there youtube page
And for more fun with Zyrtec check them out on Facebook. If your a thrifty gal like me then be sure to sign up for there rewards! We all like to save and get rewards dont we?

Please feel free to share how you deal with your allergy face or if you even feel you have one. Since I sadly know I do, its been fun to learn new Beauty tips on how to make the best of a not so great situation. Any and all tips are greatly appreciated!

Potty Training Tips and tricks with Pull-Ups #SayAdiosToDiapers

Disclosure: This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Pull-Ups® Training Pants and Latina Bloggers Connect. However all thoughts and opinions are still all my own.
Last week I talked to you about this amazing Luncheon I went to with a great group of Latina bloggers as we had fun sharing about our potty training journey. Well this week I wanted to share with you some more in depth information on potty training and the benefits of using pull-Ups during your potty training journey.

My potty training journey was a pretty rough one. I felt alone and didn't have any friends to ask for advice so I constantly ran into new speed bumps in the journey. When it finally worked it seemed like a miracle and we never looked back. So here are some awesome tips that helped me on my journey and hopefully will help you as well!
Potty training tips and tricks plus the benefits of using Pull-Ups Training Pants during your journey:

1. Wait until your child is ready! Look for cues in your childs behavior and development and see if potty training is even something that can be put on the list. Check out the Pull-Ups website "The Pull-Ups Big Kid Academy" and check out the resources they have available for parents with questions on if your child is ready to start this journey. Using Pull-Ups during potty training is better than diapers so that your child will already develop the feel of pulling the Pull-Up up and down with its stretchy sides so that it mimics the routine of the goal which is underwear.

2. Once you do start potty training... be consistent! Dont stop and give you child the idea that its ok to start and stop. Stick to the plan and be sure to spread the message to all family and friends plus those involved with caring with your child that you are Potty training. Getting everyone on the same page is valuable since you want your child to see that everyone is on board and this is really happening.

3. Make potty training special! Go out and buy a potty and pull-ups with favorite characters to make it fun. Get some rewards such as stickers and candy. To make it even more helpful Pull-Ups come in a variety of sizes to fit your little ones depending on there weight. You can get gender specific pull-ups or night time designs and even ones with learning designs. My kiddo loved the variety and it made it a special event. Moms can even take the celebration with them with the Big Kid app on a mobile device. It has lots of fun features for the both of you to check out.

4. Overall dont stress out! This potty training journey is different for each parent and child. Every child learns and grows in there own way and will get there at there own pace and its our job to remain calm and positive for them so that they see that no matter all the opsies and accidents that we are proud of them and here for them as they get there.

I hope these tips help you and your family to get on the right journey. Dont be discouraged if your child doesnt want to be potty trained just yet. Let them let you know when the time is right. Reach out to other moms for help and remember that they will figure it out. One day you will miss those diapers just like I do when I see my big boy, so cherish each day during this adventure!

Potty training Tips and Experiences shared at The Pull Ups Luncheon #SayAdiosToDiapers #Ad

Disclosure: This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Pull-Ups® Training Pants and Latina Bloggers Connect. However all thoughts and opinions are still all my own.
Last weekend I hit the jackpot! yep but of something worth far more than any amount of money. I found a group of women who made me feel so comfortable and whose knowledge and experience in Mothering is what I've been needing and missing in my life. I knew a couple of these amazing women online but others not at all and yet during this past weekends Latina Blogger luncheon I felt like I walked away with connections to moms who could help me in this never ending journey that is Parenting.

And do you know how priceless that is? Someone to share with and to be able to turn to for advice when your child hits different life stages is invaluable. Trust me!

The topic for this past weekends Luncheon was to say GoodBye to Diapers!  #SayAdiosToDiapers
We all shared our own experiences with our kids who had gone through the potty training process while others were still tackling it and some were far from it and were sharing there worries and questions. This was a fun discussion, that just like it should be showed that every moms experience just like every childs experience is there own when it comes to such a big event.
It was reassuring to know that what might work for many kids might not work for yours but that doesn't mean anything is wrong. Every child has his day and way that it will happen. While some will jump in head first and love being potty trained others might not and even tell there mommy that they will wear diapers for life and not care what others think. Yep that was my kiddo and check him out today and he is potty trained and doing awesome. Life happens and things will change.

At this Luncheon we were treated to a wealth of Tips from the amazing Jeannette Kaplun who was the sweetest person ever and so down to earth.
She looked at me and it was an instant heart to heart connection. I shared with her how for a long time in my parenting journey I went at it alone without any moms to give me advice and how tough that was on me. How now I had more people to turn to and she said that if I needed mom advice I could go to her and she would be there for me.  How sweet is that?
She shared her own experiences and related to ours. She agreed that every child will get potty trained at there own time and pace. To not let others make you feel bad with there own childs triumphs. Your child will get there when they are ready.

When you and your child are ready, make sure everyone knows it who will have contact with your child so that this routine is not interrupted and goes without any hiccups.

Be positive with the whole process as well as with your child. reward him and make him feel special. Make this transition a Happy one filled with only good thoughts and no connection to guilt. So dont over stress the oopsies so that they can feel proud of themselves for there accomplishments.

I hope that these will help you and get you started in this potty training journey.
