Our very first time to the Circus: Seeing the Alzafar Shrine Circus

So I have a major confession: I have a fear of clowns! Yep, they really bug me and so far I've been able to avoid them. And how you might ask? Well, I had never been to a circus!

That all changed this week, and I'm glad it did because we had a blast with this new Experience! I went with my sister and my son thanks to tickets I won on my friend Michelle's Blog "Family Love in my City"

Here is our adventure seeing the Alzafar Shrine Circus!
The Elephants were beautiful! So majestic! It was amazing to see so many of them at once

The lions were huge! The trainer was amazing with them and I could sense a great respect between them.
I loved seeing these ladies perform. These were beautiful butterflies that glowed all florescent.

The circus even had dogs! They were cutest pooches ever! My kiddo loved seeing them ride there car.
They had a bunch of Beautiful Camels!
And this Elephant was amazing! the way he could balance himself and roll along was amazing to see and almost unreal

And of course there were clowns there! Yep, they were walking around everywhere and I couldn't avoid them. My kiddo even took a picture with one of them.

There were more acts too like this one man who could balance himself on here while it moved all around. This was one of my favorites!

Motorcycle acts on the trapeze line and more

Then even this man got shot from the canon! It was a loud pop and boom then he was in the air! It was so scary I wanted to close my eyes!

Overall we had a blast! My kiddo enjoyed himself and we got to put a new experience under our belt. It was fun, loud and very colorful. Its something everyone should experience even if its only once and even if you have a fear of clowns. Trust me, I survived!

Start a Local Moms Blog in Your City

I hope you’ve noticed how much I have loved being a writer for Alamo City Moms Blog. It has been such a great opportunity to develop my writing, play a part in connecting moms in our city, and to get to know the other women on our fabulous team.

Alamo City Moms Blog is an amazing resource for moms in the San Antonio area and we are passionate about what we do! I’m proud to be part of something that is making a positive influence on both our beautiful city here AND on a national level! Did you know Alamo City Moms Blog has over 30 Sister Sites around the country?

These 30+ Sister Sites make up City Moms Blog Network. Each site is written and run by local moms, for local moms. They provide parenting information unique to their community, and to make things even more fun, they each throw fabulous events to get moms in their cities out on the town.

This network of locally focused moms blogs has empowered women all over the country to start their own businesses. When someone joins City Moms Blog Network as a Sister Site owner, they are joining a family that is eager to encourage and support one another. Sister Sites are provided with assistance in the startup phase, ongoing education and resources for continued support, and a community of fellow site owners eager to share best practices.

With the help of City Moms Blog Network, these Sister Site owners are able to become entrepreneurs (mompreneurs) and local influencers, all while doing something they love and are passionate about. I have loved watching Brooke and Lindsay of Alamo City Moms Blog grow it into what it is today, and I am thankful and proud of the part I am playing in that!

Is there a City Moms BlogNetwork Sister Site in your area?

City Moms Blog Network is currently looking for Sister Site owners in 25 specific cities in California, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia and Washington.

Getting our Home Ready for Fall with some more Home Improvements {Home Depot Gift card Giveaway}

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by The Home Depot.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Remember how I told you we were fixing up our home? Well this summer has been a very rough one for me and my family. We haven't been able to do as much as we wanted in the area of Home Improvements so now we are playing catch up!

With the summer temperatures being over 100 constantly it was hard to keep our plants thriving but we are working on it. A couple of good outside days pulling up weeds and trimming around plants and sprucing around so far have given us a much neater looking yard over all.
But I still do miss my flowers and we still have a long ways to go!

Fall is right around the corner and there are still plenty of things on my to do list that are important. One major one is our bathroom!

Sadly our bathroom has gone through a lot of wear and tear. I wont go into big details but my dad fell in the bathroom and broke the bathroom and sink as he held on to it. It was already pretty old and needed to be replaced but now its just a MAJOR hazard! For every ones safety it has to be changed now!

We got this combo Vanity for our bathroom and will be installing it soon {picture from the Home Depot website}. It should be pretty easy to install and I cant wait to see it up!
Along with the wear and tear we need to repaint the wall and even add new tile to the bathroom floor! A lot of the tiles are loose and/or broken so when we rip out the bathroom toilet we are doing the floor along with it.

Luckily our bathtub/shower is still in good shape but we are still adding in a new shower head to make our showers more powerful clean!
I will be updating you on our shopping trip for more of the necessitates for this big redo! You can follow along with me with help from the Home Depot with your own gift card! You can enter to win one of three $50 Home Depot gift cards to help you on your own Home Improvement journey!
