Family Trip to The Texas State Aquarium

This past summer we took a family trip to Corpus Christi Texas. The first time I had been able to go (since these trips were a tradition for my brother and sister with my mom and step dad). It was even more exciting since it would be my kiddos first time even seeing the ocean! On the first day there in Corpus my kiddo, sister and I visited The Texas State Aquarium for the very first time!

If you know me then you know that since I was in elementary school I have been insanely in Love with sea life and to be more specific Turtles! So being so close to the beach mixed with the smell of the sea water I was in heaven!

I instantly fell in love with The Aquarium. Its a mix of indoor and outdoor areas that are very kid friendly for the littles as well as for the bigs. Its very interactive and education friendly. Its done in a way where as you discover you are learning about sea life and environments and I enjoyed it so much! As for my kiddo... we spent hours there! He loved it and it was the perfect beginning for our Beach trip.

Here are some photos from our visit to the Texas State Aquarium:
This was the Beautiful ceiling. It felt like being under the sea.
This is my sister holding a starfish! You can actually pick them up underwater. Just don't take them out of the water! She said it was awesome to hold one.
Yes I made a couple of coins! I actually collect them from the places we visit. Its a neat thing I want to conserve along with memories.
My munchkin checking out the sharks!
 Entering the Amazon...
Checking out the underwater Dolphin viewing area
Watching the Dolphin show!
Hanging out with Stingrays. You can touch and feed them too
We went to go see the Beautiful turtles!
And last but not least... The Texas State Aquarium has an amazing water play area for the kids to be able to cool off in. Its the HEB Splash park and its a whole lot of fun so pack some extra clothes!
Hopefully we get to go back soon because it definitely goes on my favorite list! Plus I want to make these beach trips a tradition for my munchkin. Have you ever visited the Texas State Aquarium?

Names in the sand.... (Beach life)

Weeks ago we went on our first family trip to the beach! Yep, my kiddo for the first time got to feel his little toes in the sand and beach water! It was amazingly fun and the perfect way to start our summer fun. Now with all these rough days these past couple of weeks all I need to do is look back on our beach pictures and close my eyes and I'm back there under the sun and in the breeze of that fresh salty air. I told myself I would write our names in the sand since I had been to the beach only a handful of times but had never done it before so I did it! Here's my name in the warm beach sand:
It felt awesome to have my toes in the sand and I will never forget it. My kiddo loved it and we cant wait to go back next summer. I will share a bunch more beach pictures soon!

How was your kiddos first time at the beach? Did they love it like mine did?

Hopping on a boat for a minute...

Let me tell you something a lot of people don't know about me...

I get serious motion sickness! Even on surfaces that try to simulate how it would feel to be on a boat.. yep those make me dizzy and nauseous too. As far back as I can remember car rides do this to me. I cant read anything while on a car without feeling a little sick. That even includes car signs! Can you see why I don't drive? Elevators? Don't get me started!

Well I happen to have a water loving family including my son. So I said we would get on a boat this summer. And we did. Just that I cheated a bit and we only got on for like a couple of minutes. And the boat we got on wasn't even moving and happened to be a museum... so maybe next time I can do better? (Here's hoping)

Any way... here is my little (Big) boat adventure At Corpus Christi, Tx USS Lexington Museum on the Bay.
We didn't stay too long (obviously) since a boat museum didn't seem to entice my kiddo but hopefully next time we are in corpus we can go and munchkin will be more interested and me less motion sicknessy. I am working on it! Trust me because I love the water too!

Have you ever been to the USS Lexington Museum on the bay? Did your kiddos have fun?

Beach Life At Corpus Christi

This summer my kiddo and I went to the Beach for the very first time! We went with my family and it was such a special trip. It was a short 3 hour drive and we only stayed for a couple of days but the memories made are priceless!

Here's a peak at my beach Summer Adventure!
Jellies! There were a ton of jellies We were so scared they were going to touch us but they were also so pretty. There was a bunch of people putting them back closer into the water when they washed ashore and that made us so happy.
We played in the sand and picked up a ton of shells and relaxed in the waves.

Yes we took our Nemo toys to the Beach. We had Marlin, Dori and Nemo and acted out some scenes!
And even pretended with some small sea turtles

If you haven't noticed, yes my kiddo wore Beach themed sea life clothes the whole trip. Im a weirdo!

It was such a great trip and we had a blast! Can you tell? Have you ever been to Corpus Christi. What spots were your favorite to visit? Want to see what else we did over on our trip? Check out the links below:
